Ian HartFuneral Director
Ian started in the funeral trade in 1987 at Dillistones and arranged his first funeral only 9 weeks after he joined. From there he made the move down Carnegie road and joined HD Tribe before leaving to set up on his own in March 2004. Away from work he is a Brighton season ticket holder, Broadwater Cricket Club chairman, a member of Hill Barn Golf Club and enjoys taking his Border Terrier Roxy for long walks in the countryside.

Sue HartCompany Director
Sue is Ian’s wife and a company director. She joined the company from day 1 working part-time whilst also working nights at Norwich Union before going full-time in 2005. Away from work Sue enjoys travelling and socialising with friends.

Jane JamesFuneral Director
Jane is Ian’s sister in law and originally started in the funeral business at The Monumental Company before joining Ian Hart Funeral Service in July 2006 when Ian bought TMC. She is the manager of the company and has the role of a funeral director. Away from work Jane enjoys running, playing netball, taking her dogs for walks and going out with friends.

Sam HartFuneral Director
Sam started at the family business part time in the summer after he completed his GCSE’s before going to college and joining the firm full time in 2013. He has been funeral directing since 2016 and has learnt a wealth of knowledge from Ian and Jane, as well as bringing a fresh set of ideas into the way we operate. Away from work Sam is a Brighton season ticket holder and loves cricket.

Chris CookFuneral Director
Chris joined the company in September 2015 as a funeral operative, before moving into the office as media manager in 2018. He has now passed the reigns on and is a funeral director. Away from work he plays up front for Hillside Rangers and enjoys socialising with friends.

Alison AzarroFuneral Administrator
Ali started working at IHFS in July 2016 and is the key member in our pre-payment plans. She has quite the life experience, previously working as an air hostess and for another funeral directors in Sussex. Away from work she enjoys spending time with her family and socialising.

Margaret HughesReceptionist
Margaret started her working career in insurance before joining the firm in 2011. She is an extremely good administrator and the heartbeat of the company. Away from work she enjoys spending time with family, listening to music, cooking and eating chocolate!

Lorraine AustinAccounts
Lorraine has been with the company since 2014, starting as a receptionist and doing the donations. She is now part of our accounts department and is another friendly voice answering the phone. When not at work she enjoys walking her dog Barney and spending time with family and friends.

Richard CadmanWorkshop Foreman
Richard is our foreman and has been with the company for 10 years. He has over 17 years’ experience in the funeral trade and has worked all around Sussex. Away from work he enjoys family time and is a self-confessed petrol head, his knowledge on cars is second to none!

Lee BirdFuneral Operative
Lee joined the company back in 2012 and has enjoyed his role as a funeral operative ever since. A jack of all trades he has quickly become the IHFS handy man; always required to fix electrics or give a wall a lick of paint. When he isn’t at work you’ll find him at Ham Manor golf club where he is a member as well as in the local snooker hall having a few frames.

Dave NortheastFuneral Operative
Dave has been with us since 2017, previously working as a HGV driver. When not in the office he enjoys road trips across the USA, listening to music and riding his bike.

Matt PriorMedia Manager
Matt joined the company in March 2019, starting as a funeral operative before moving into the office to manage the media aspects of funerals. Away from work Matt likes to go out on his motorbike, watching rugby, and finding the best bargain he can!

Greg LuerFuneral Operative
Greg is the newest member of the team joining in October 2019, previously playing professional football for Hull in the Championship. Away from work he enjoys golf and football, still playing regularly.

Debbie FinneganReceptionist
Debbie joined the company in December 2018 and has taken on the role as charity co-ordinator as well as being the friendly face on reception our families first see when they come to the office. When Debbie is not at work, she enjoys snowboarding, skating, cooking, and seeing friends.
